painting the roses red

alright alright alright
so it's been a while since I've made a new post but...*suspense builds increasingly* I'm back! Hurray! First things first, since I, as you may very well assume, am constantly dinning on a budget I shelled out the $4 and purchased this fabulous sandwich container from my local target
If I'm going to take my lunch I may as well look cute doing it.
So after I purchased my lunch container, about a week went by, I stopped by Michaels, picked up some supplies and made my very own pins! The two below feature Audrey Hepburn on the left, and Matthew Gray Gubler on the right. The idea came from my very own cousin No Uniform Necessary she's pretty amazing, go check her out.
So how does one make these fabulous DIY pins?
Things you'll need: wooden circles (size may vary, found in your wood working section at your arts and craft store), paint, a picture of your favorite celebrity, Mod podge, some safety pins, a hot glue gun, and whatever else you want to decorate with!
  1. paint your wooden circle whatever color you desire (don't forget the edges!)
  2. cut out in whatever shape you think looks best, the picture you want on your pin
  3. once the paint is FULLY dry add a coat of mod podge
  4. place your picture on top of the coat before it dries, this will act as an adhesive
  5. place another layer of mod podge over your entire pin, you may find your picture hanging over the edge, cut off the extra as closely as you can, then round off the rest of the image
  6. once the mod podge is dry go ahead and hot glue the safety pin to the back of the circle
  7. TA-DAH you have just created your very own spunky pin. make hundreds!
* extra decorations ex: I hot glued a sparkly pipe cleaner along the edge of the matthew gray gubler pin for that extra something.
I also made a door hanger featuring Audrey Hepburn sleeping with her night mask on that reads princess on the top, and knock at the bottom. If it looked as amazing as these two I would post it, but I messed up on the paint, oh well next time!
Until we meet again lover,
Kendall

the same old song and dance; well not really

hey there squares
so today is my first post and I became inspired to start this blog after making my own DIY banana face mask. So basically this blog is all about my teenage-not so adult adventures until I accept growing up in all its glory. Recently I've been trying to take better care of myself, expect to see some inspiring healthy post! *forced laughter* today I made my very own banana face mask! The things you'll need are, one egg yolk, one banana, and either one tablespoon of olive or coconut oil. I used olive oil, since this was very last minute.

  1. wash your face thoroughly to get off all the dirt
  2. cut your banana into tiny pieces and place into a bowl
  3. in the same bowl mix in your egg yolk (watch out for those nasty shells!), and oil
  4. gently apply your new mask to your clean face
  5. wash off after 20 minutes!
  6. there should be plenty left over so share!
Don't be alarmed by the brown discoloration or the way the mask seems to harden. The brown color is just the banana reacting to the air, and the hardening is the yolk! Afterward my face felt clean and refreshed. I forgot to take pictures of it, but I'll be sure to take some when I try my DIY hair conditioner and avocado face mask sometime soon! I found the banana face mask at
DYI confession.
until next time cutie,
Kendall
